First to explain the reason I wrote this essay. I have been gambling online or at a brick and mortar casinos for a great many years. I have discovered, the dependency can take a hold of you and you won’t even realize it until you are broke. Especially if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through countless thousands of dollars in a very short amount of time and to this day on occasion, I will go too far. It seems you are just having fun until you decide to pay attention to your loss and the guilt sets in, and then you keep telling yourself "I can win it back" constantly. It never works. Then you feel sick in your gut and the more you attempt the faster you lose.

When you notice that you are ahead, STAY on the UP! When you begin to lose, don’t say to yourself, "well just maybe just one more" and again and again, trust me, this logic almost never ever works. Say you’re playing on slot games, have an amount put aside before starting your play. Don’t exceed that boundary, no matter how tempting. If you happen to win, put that in a separate canister. Do not use your wins no matter what. As soon as you have played through your primary set limit, stop. Leave, regardless if it is online or at a physical casino, do not stick around. Always remember, there is going to be a different day, another time.

Always remember, wagering is supposed to be FUN not backbreaking, nauseating work! If you aren’t enjoying yourself, you do not belong there. If youcannot afford the loss, do not even start.
